Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Attacks on American Forces
By SITE Institute
April 5, 2005

On April 5, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat al-Jihad Fi Bilad al-Rafidayn] issued two communiqués claiming responsibility for an attack on an American convoy on the al-Dawra Road south of Baghdad, and fighting against ?Jews and Christians? in Ramadi.

In the first communiqué, the Abu Bakr al-Siddiq Brigade detonated explosives as an American convoy was passing along al-Dawra Road, whereas ?[a] Humvee was completely burnt and all of its crew were killed…?

Also, ongoing battles against coalition forces in Ramadi are described as encouraging, as the mujahideen are ?pounding the cross-worshippers and their helpers heavily and making them suffer, thank God.?

Full translations of the communiqués are provided to our Intel Service members.
