April 6, 2005

On April 6, 2005, the Military Corps of Ansar al-Sunnah Army issued two communiqués claiming responsibility for the murder of two police officers in Kirkuk, and the capture of a bank official in the Ministry of Interior, west of Baghdad.

The mujahideen in Kirkuk, according to the first statement, ?attacked a police patrol killing a police officer, one police soldier, and badly wounded another.?

The bank official of the Ministry of Interior is unnamed, but following his capture, the message states that ?the interrogation is taking place now.?

Full translations of the communiqués are provided to our Intel Service members.
