Ansar al-Sunna Releases Messages Claiming Responsibility for Two Attacks In Iraq.

In two statements released on Wednesday April 13th, 2005, Ansar al-Sunna claimed responsibility for two separate attacks occurring within the span of two hours. Around 7am local Iraqi time, Ansar al-Sunna claims to have mined an American vehicle transporting troops in the central Iraqi city of al-Ramadi. At 9am, Ansar al-Sunna killed a member of the Iraqi police force in the northern city of Kirkuk.

Regarding the attack on the vehicle, Ansar al-Sunna?s communiqué specifies that they had used a ?very explosive ground mine?. The message claims that all troops in the vehicle were either killed or injured. The police officer was killed while driving his personal car along an ocean front road in Kirkuk.
