Mujahideen in Libya Asking for Help
By SITE Institute
May 13, 2005

In a message issued on a jihadist message board today, May 13, 2005, titled: ?Mujahideen in Lybia Asking for Help,? the author urges ?the supporters of jihad? to support the brothers in Lybia and describes recent confrontations between the mujahideen and Lybian security forces.

In Darnah, northern Lybia along the Mediterranean Sea coast, Mohammad Taher al-Shairi, ?one of the mujahideen,? is cited in the message as having resisted arrest by ?one of the devil?s soldiers, Ramzy al-Mansouri,? and subsequently murdered the officer ?with a sword in his neck and another one in his heart? before he was shot dead. The author prays for ?Allah accept you… in the highest paradise.?

Further, the message indicates that in al-Marj, west of Darnah, several confrontations between mujahideen and ?the devil?s dogs? allegedly resulted in injuries upon the latter. The message concludes with a final urge for supplication and the warning that: ?the devils will not rest till they eliminate the people of faith for the face of earth.?

A full translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.
