An Analysis of Zarqawi’s Message – From a Soldier to His Emir (Prince)
By SITE Institute
May 31, 2005

A message posted on al-Qaeda affiliated forum today, May 31, 2005, titled: ?A Brief Analysis in Points of al-Zarqawi?s Message … From a Soldier to His Emir,? delineates what the author feels as significant from the speech allegedly voiced by al-Qaeda in Iraq leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, which was released to the Internet yesterday and translated by the SITE Institute .

According to the analysis, the author believes that Zarqawi is using psychological warfare against the American media and speaks with great ?confidence? about his set plans. The upcoming phase of Zarqawi?s operation, following the previous phase that was ?completely accomplished,? includes a fitna (war) within Islam between the Shi?a and Sunni. The author emphasizes Zarqawi?s pledge of solidarity with Usama bin Laden, as he entreats the al-Qaeda leader for support in this fight, and watches as a ?new dawn starts to appear in the horizon.?

A full translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.
