Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Several Attacks in Talafar, which the Deputy Emir of al-Qaeda in Iraq Congratulates

In four separate communiqués issued today, June 7, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq, through its official spokesman, Abu Maysara al-Iraqi, claims responsibility for several attacks in Talafar today, which is met with a congratulatory statement by Abu Abdul Rahman al-Iraqi, the Deputy Emir (Prince) of al-Qaeda in Iraq.

The first communiqué describes two separate attacks today, via explosive packages, targeting an Iraqi troop carrier and American Humvee, both in Talafar. According to the message, each detonation ?completely destroyed? their targets.

Also in Talafar today, the second communiqué highlights the ?large fights with the Shi?a of the nonbelievers guard and their masters the crusaders.? Al-Qaeda in Iraq alleges to having shot down three helicopters, and bolsters support amongst their members by stating: ?We would like to assure you that the mujahideen?s morals are very good, they are racing to please Allah.?

In the third message, the group describes shooting down another helicopter, as well as burning an American tank, which resulted in ?much killing [of] Americans.? Further, the communiqué alleges that seven ?converted Shi?a?s, who support Jews and Christians? were killed in al-Qadesya district.

The fourth statement, addressed from Abu Abdul Rahman al-Iraqi, praises the ?mujahideen in Talafar? for the aforementioned operations they executed today, stating: ?you shot down their planes and whipped their noses in mid.?
