In three separate communiqués issued to the Internet today, June 15, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq, through its official spokesman, Abu Maysara al-Iraqi, claims responsibility for a suicide bombing today on Iraqi National Guards in the district of al-Khales in Dyali, northeast of Baghdad, and attacks targeting American and Iraqi forces in Ramadi and Baquba.

The first communiqué describes a suicide bombing at a restaurant in al-Khales, which is ?frequented only by the National Guards….? Today, after the bomber was allegedly invited inside for lunch, he detonated his explosive belt, killing ?at least 30 soldiers between the National Guards and the Alkamis (Shiites).? Media reports indicate that the man was dressed in a soldier?s uniform and the blast killed at least 17 Iraqi soldiers.

Also today, as described in the second communiqué, an explosive package was detonated on a ?crusaders? convoy? in the area of the ?Officers? District? in Ramadi. A Humvee was destroyed and the message states that ?all who were in it were killed….?

The third message highlights a car bombing yesterday in Baquba, north of Baghdad, targeting a convoy of the National Guards. According to the message: ?one car was destroyed and eight soldiers of the bad Guard were killed.?
