Al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat al-Jihad Fi Bilad al-Rafidayn] issued a statement today, June 15, 2005, seeking to comfort the Sunnis of Iraq and the Palestinian Muslims in Baghdad in the face of purported Shiite oppression. The message urges the Sunnis and Palestinians to ?have patience and keep going; Allah is with you and He will not leave,? while at the same time, reminding that the Shiites ?helping the Jews and Christians? is nothing new, ?it is in their blood.?
In a posting to a jihadist message board on May 20, 2005 , a Palestinian in Iraq of the ?Salah al-Deen al-Ayoubi Brigade,? wrote a message entreating al-Qaeda in Iraq leader, Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, to publish news of alleged ?restriction of freedoms of the Palestinians in Iraq and unfair treatment levied upon them by the Iraqi police,? and stated that a Palestinian in Iraq has not even the ?lowest human rights of any refugee or a citizen… in this injured country.?
