Ansar al-Sunnah Claims Responsibility for Murder of a Member of the Kurdish Democratic Party in Mosul and Killing Eight Policemen in Abu Ghraib

Ansar al-Sunnah, in two separate statements issued today, June 15, 2005, claims responsibility for the murder of a member of the Kurdish Democratic Party in the area of al-Senaeya, on the right side of Mosul, and for killing eight policemen during a confrontation in Abu Ghraib.

The first communiqué highlights the assassination of the Kurdish Democratic Party member, ?an agent of the Jews and Christians.? The message threatens those ?who spy on the mujahideen? that they should repent, else they will ?not get from us but only slaughter.?

A confrontation between Iraqi police and members of Ansar al-Sunnah Army is described in the second communiqué, which is purported to have lasted ?for more than half an hour, during which the mujahideen killed eight policeman….?
