June 16, 2005

Ansar al-Sunnah, in a statement issued today, June 16, 2005, claims responsibility for the murder of Salem Mahoud Haj Ali, a judge in Mosul, as he was driving in his car. The message indicates that his car was attacked with ?machine guns and plenty of bullets,? and further states that this murder was ?justice? for those who ?try the mujahideen and sentence them (with prejudgment from your masters).?

The news media reports that Judge Ali?s driver was also killed in the attack.
