By SITE Institute
June 21, 2005

In three separate communiqués issued today, June 21, 2005, Ansar al-Sunnah claims responsibility for attacks in Baghdad targeting the ?converted police,? and a bombing operation in the area of al-Ziout in al-Ramadi, west of Baghdad, against American forces.

The first communiqué describes an attack today in al-Mominoun district in Baghdad, which entailed the use of an explosive package on an Iraqi police vehicle traveling with a military convoy. According to the message, ?the vehicle was hit and it was completely destroyed, and all who were in it had perished.?

Also today, the second message highlights a bombing operation on Iraqi police on 14 Ramadan Street in Baghdad, in which a police vehicle was hit and allegedly ?destroyed and all who were on it had perished….? Further, the message states that the group intends to ?make the Land of Two Rivers (Iraq) a grave for you if your bodies will have anything left.?

The third communiqué describes an attack Sunday on American soldiers in al-Ziout in al-Ramadi. The message indicates that the group detonated an explosive package on a Humvee, ?completely destroying the vehicle and killing all who were riding it from the crusaders….?
