Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Killing 150 Iraqi National Guards in Baghdad, Suicide Bombings in Ramadi and Mosul, and an Attack on Iraqi Police in al-Madain

In four separate communiqués and a 4 minute video issued today, June 22, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat al-Jihad Fi Bilad al-Rafidayn] claims responsibility for murdering 150 Iraqi National Guards in Baghdad during their ?revenge operation for the Sunni people,? which is also depicted in the video, and suicide bombings today in al-Taamin in al-Ramadi, and al-Yarmouk district in Mosul, and an explosive package attack in al-Madain, south of Baghdad.

The first communiqué highlights a suicide bombing today in the area of al-Taamim in al-Ramadi, west of Baghdad, which targeted an American convoy. The message states: ?By Allah?s will, he destroyed and killed them.

Also today, as described in the second communiqué, an explosive package was detonated in the area of al-Joara in al-Madain, on a ?converted police patrol.? The message alleges that the car was ?completely destroyed? and all of seven occupants were killed.

The third communiqué indicates that a suicide bomber detonated himself in al-Yarmouk district of Mosul, ?completely destroying two armored vehicles of an American convoy.?

According to the fourth communiqué, which elaborates on the operation depicted in the accompanying video clip, 150 soldiers of the Iraqi National Guard were murdered on the ?path of the revenge of the Sunni people.? The message alleges that only ?four from their camp survived….?
