Al-Qaeda in Iraq Issues Four New Communiqués Claiming Attacks Across Iraq

Today, June 26, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq, headed by the militant Abu Musab al-Zarqawi released four new communiqués signed by its spokesman, Abu Maysara al-Iraqi.

In the first communiqué, the group takes responsibility for killing a police colonel in the al-Mashtal region of Baghdad al-Jadida. According to the statement, the assassination was carried out by ?Muhammad Bin Musalma military assassination company.?

In the second message, the group claims an attack against the police station in the city of Mosul that killed and injured ?tens of apostates.? The group assures that this attack did not kill any civilians, as it occurred very early in the morning. ?The attack was followed by another one,? the communiqué continues, ?and this time with mortar shells of size 82 mm, which caused them to suffer more assassinated and injured people.?

The third release details the actions of two suicide bombers who blew themselves up with explosive vests at ?the Tamarat Center at al-Hamdaniya area near al-Kask.? The writer alleges that this attack also killed or injured tens of apostates.

In the fourth communiqué, the group lays claim to an attack by a ?Lion from among the Lions of the suicidal Battalion of al-Bara?a Bin Malik? against another police station in Mosul. ?He recited Allah is Great, and then blew himself up, and as a result Allah on High destroyed them and killed not less than ten of them (the enemy), and two cars were completely burned out.?
