Ansar al-Sunnah recently released a communiqué on the Internet reassuring followers of the righteousness of its cause and promising future victories against the Western presence in Iraq.
The message opens with a reference to the recent speech by George W. Bush admitting to having no clear time-table for a withdrawal from Iraq. According to the author, Bush was forced to make this admission because of the operations of Ansar al-Sunnah, which in turn ?caused a change in all the communiqués that the prime minister of the apostate government (Ja?afari) had prepared to deliver,? to president Bush as evidence of Western victories.
The communiqué also seeks to dispel confusion between Ansar al-Sunnah mujahideen operations, and operations of the ?Badr,? who kill civilians and other Muslims and then are found ?accusing the mujahideen falsely and with slander to distort their picture.? This confusion must be clarified, the group claims, and can be done easily, as it posts its claims of responsibility to the Internet through its verified channels.
In conclusion, Ansar al-Sunnah reiterates that ?our goal is (to attack) the American crusader forces that occupied Iraq as well as attack every one that supported and helped them, was he a low-level person or a high-up one, did he provide a little help or a big one regardless of his nationality, religion or the belief that he follows."
