Discussion of Ways to Weaken the American and British Economies
By SITE Institute
June 29, 2005

A message posted to an al-Qaeda affiliated jihadist forum advocates the use of a boycott to attack American, British, and ?Jewish? companies and goods as a means of weakening their respective economies, and exacting a revenge that is not within the Muslim?s people means, militarily. The author vilifies America and England as spearheading a campaign to fight ?jihad everywhere,? and claims reasons of ?shari?a, manhood, and medical? for a justification of this prescribed course of action.

The author accuses America and Israel of committing heinous crimes against Muslims in various countries, and specifically targets companies that allegedly abet them. For example, the message states that Pepsi is an acronym for ?Pay Every Penny to Save Israel,? and alleges ill-health effects of carbonated beverages and the knowledge that Western countries have knowingly supplied these drinks to Muslim countries, while they do not ?prefer them and keep them away from themselves, looking for a substitute without all these bad effects.? Further, the author prays for harm to America, stating: ?Allah curse it, humiliate it, and shake the land beneath it.?
