Ansar al-Sunnah Claims Responsibility for Bombing Operations on American and Iraqi Forces in Baghdad, Haditha, and al-Ramadi

Ansar al-Sunnah, in four separate communiqués issued today, July 1, 2005, claims responsibility for attacks on Iraqi police today in al-Kamalya in Baghdad, and operations executed upon American and Iraqi forces yesterday in Haditha, al-Ramadi, and al-Baladiat in Baghdad:

  1. The first communiqué states that today, an explosive package was detonated on a ?four-wheel drive car that belongs to the converted forces? in al-Kamalya. According to the message, the explosion resulted in killing the four Iraqi police officers in the patrol.
  2. Yesterday, as the second message highlights, an explosive package was detonated on the ?converted police forces? driving in al-Baladiat, in Baghdad. The message indicates that the losses ?were not known.?
  3. Another explosive package was used to destroy a Humvee, which was driving alongside an American patrol in al-Ziout, in al-Ramadi. The inhabitants on the vehicle are alleged to have been ?killed or injured….?
  4. The fourth communiqués describes a bombing operation that is alleged to have destroyed a Humvee on the Strategic Way near Haditha. According to the message, the operation resulted in ?killing or injuring all who were in the vehicle.?
