Abu Hafs Brigade Claims Responsibility for London Bombing

A messsage posted to the internet by a group calling itself the European branch of the Abu Hafs Brigade has claimed responsibility for the terrorist attacks that struck Londonon Thursday, July 7th. In a message posted today July 9, 2005, the group claims ?a group of mujahideen , from Abu Hafs al-Masri Brigades launched the attacks following one another , in the capital of the Kufar (infidels), the English capital, and those who were killed - were killed, and those who were injured- were injured, thanks be to Allah.?

The Abu Hafs Brigade has also issued communiques claiming responsibility for the train bombings in Madridlast year on March 11, 2004, that killed nearly 200 people. The group also took credit for a pair of hotel bombings in August 2004 in Istanbul.

The group also issued a warning for future attacks by announcing?that the coming days will be aligned with (demonstrate) the great meaning of Jihad against those who declared war on Islam and the Muslims. We will not keep quiet nor will soften, until the landof Islamand the Muslims are secured in Iraq, Afghanistanand Palestine.?

On May 29, 2005, in a message translated by the SITE Institute, the Abu Hafs Brigade threatened Europewithan ?attack whose time had come after the blasphemous [people] penetrated deeply in their war against Islam and the Muslims by desecrating the most noble of the books, which is the holy Qur?an.?
