In a second wave of communiqués issued today, al-Qaeda in Iraq claims responsibility for the assassination of Abu Arkan Saleh al-Ameri, a ?responsible leader? of al-Ghadr Brigades in al-Dowra, south of Baghdad, a suicide bombing yesterday targeting a meeting of the al-Ghadr Brigades in al-Mahmoudya, Baghdad, in which allegedly 15-20 Ghadr members were killed, and the murder of two Iraqi police officers in Karaj, Baghdad.

In addition, the group claims responsibility for an ambush today of a convoy of Iraqi National Guards in al-Khalis, in Dyali, north of Baghdad, where a car bomb was detonated and ?the brothers planted an explosive package at a distance so they (the guards) cannot retreat.? The combination of explosives allegedly killed more than ?twenty converters.?
