Al-Qaeda in Iraq Announces the Continuation of Attacks for a Martyr, and Claims Responsibility for an Attack in Baghdad and Suicide Bombing in al-Dowra

Al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat Al-Jihad Fi Bilad Al-Rafidayn], in three separate communiqués issued today, July 16, 2005, announces the continuation of attacks in conquest of the ?martyr? Hasan al-Zeidi, and claims responsibility for destroying two trucks in Baghdad and a suicide bombing targeting Iraqi forces in al-Dowra, in southern Baghdad.

According to the first communiqué, today continues al-Qaeda in Iraq attacks in honor of Hasan al-Zeidi. The group explains that these operations are only executed after the target is checked, so ?they can avoid the pedestrians.? Further, the message entreats ?our Muslim brothers in the east and west? to supplicate to Allah for their support and ensure victory.

The second communiqué states that an attack today was launched on al-Zaafaraneya Road in Baghdad, targeting two trucks carrying concrete barricades for the American sites. The group alleges that both trucks were destroyed and their drivers killed.

A suicide bombing on members of the Iraqi guards in al-Dowra, Baghdad, is described in the third communiqué, where allegedly, twenty-five guards were killed.
