In three separate statements, the Supporters of the Sunni People [Ahel al-Sunnah al-Munasera] in Iraq claims responsibility for the capture and murder of Ali Shakir Eidan, the president of the Iraqi Karate Union, an attack targeting Badr Brigade members on Baghdad ? al-Basra International Road, and a suicide operation targeting Shi?ites at a shrine in southern Baghdad.
According to the first communiqué, Ali Shakir Eidan, the president of the Iraqi Karate Union and president of Babil Club, who was also ?known to hate the Sunni people and fight them secretly and in public,? was captured and executed to be an example to those who harm the Sunni people. Media reports indicate that Ali Shakir was kidnapped July 9, 2005 and found the following day dead in a river in southeastern
The second message details an attack yesterday on members of the Badr Brigades, American forces, and Iraqi National Guards on Baghdad ? al-Basra International Road. The group states that they received information that the Shi?ites of the Badr organization were going to Baghdad ?wearing civilian clothes? and attacked them, allegedly killing forty-six ?agents.? Following the attack, a car bomb was detonated as American and Iraqi National Guards arrived, killing ?a large number of them.?
The third communiqué describes a suicide bombing operation at a Shi?ite shrine in Baghdad, and explains that the bomber ?offered his life for the sake of this religion and to defend his Muslim people wherever they are? after Iraqi National Guards purportedly committed crimes against his family. The man detonated his explosive belt in the shrine and ?killed some of them (the worshippers).?
The Supporters of the Sunni People in Iraq recently announced their establishment ?to defend our people in the middle and south Iraq? against alleged Shi?ite aggression and ?systematic genocide? of the Sunni people.
