Al-Qaeda in Iraq Announces that a Field Commander in Western Iraq was Killed in Battle, and Claims Responsibility for Attacks on Iraqi National Guards in New Baghdad, Battles in Rawah, and the Murder of Five Ghadr Brigade Members in Baghdad

In four communiqués issued in the past 24-hours, al-Qaeda in Iraq announces the death yesterday of Abu Saleh al-Iraqi al-Ansari, one of the field leaders in the Military Wing of al-Qaeda in Iraq who was killed during battle with American soldiers in western Iraq, an attack in New Baghdad allegedly killing five members of the Iraqi National Guard, battles today in Rawah and a suicide bombing targeting American forces, and the assassination yesterday of five members of al-Ghadr Brigade in Baghdad.
