Al-Qaeda in Iraq Issues a Statement Responding to the American and Foreign News Media Channels Attempts to “Mute the Voice of the Right Thing”
By SITE Institute
July 19, 2005

In a statement issued today, July 19, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq attacks the American media channels, and al-Jazeera and al-Arabya for their alleged attempts to ?blacken the truth? by falsifying coalition losses in Iraq and downplaying the intensity of the mujahideen?s attack. The groups maintains that their information department is the sole reporter of truth, free from the ?crusaders? whip? that they believe strikes foreign media outlets to follow the purported lies.

To illustrate their point, al-Qaeda in Iraq references the recent attacks in honor of Hasan al-Zeidi, noting that the media reported on the attacks, but gave no mention of the details, such as: ?precise targeting, and avoiding the civilians and ordinary people, and making sure to hurt the enemy.?

A full translation of the statement is provided to our Intel Service members.
