The Brigades of the Martyr Abdullah Azzam Claims Responsibility for the Bombings in Sharm al-Sheikh, Egypt
By SITE Institute
July 23, 2005

In a communiqué issued today, July 23, 2005, The Brigades of the Martyr Abdullah Azzam claims responsibility for the bombings in Sharm al-Sheikh, Egypt, targeting the Ghazala Gardens Hotel and the ?old commercial market which is full with hundreds of Zionists and Crusaders.? The group states that these attacks are in response to the ?crimes of the worldwide evil powers? in Iraq, Afghanistan, Palestine and Chechnya, in addition to avenging the ?Sinair martyrs? who are allegedly killed under the regime of Egyptian President Hosni Mubarak, the ?Egyptian tyrant.?

According to media reports, at least 88 people have been killed and over 200 injured as a result of three simultaneous bombings that tore through the Red Sea resort area of Sharm al-Sheikh.

In the past, The Brigades of the Martyr Abdullah Azzam issued a communiqué claiming responding for the twin bombings in Cairo on May 1, 2005.
