The Shari’a Court of al-Qaeda in Iraq Issues Statement Regarding the Court’s Decision in the Case of the Two Algerian Diplomats, and the Group Provides a Video Depicting the Captured Men
By SITE Institute
July 26, 2005

The Shari?a Court of al-Qaeda in Iraq issued a statement dated yesterday, July 25, 2005, regarding their decision in regards to the captured Algerian diplomats, Alu Belarouci and Azzedin Belkadi al-Khamis, and their condemnation of the governments who place their laws above Islamic Shari?a. In addition, the group issued a communiqué and a 1:20 minute video depicting the men stating their names and addresses, as part of their ?confession.?

According to the statement from the Shari?a Court, due to the ?devil government? actions against mujahideen and scholars, and their ignorance of the shari?a rules, any representatives of these governments are deemed ?legal targets… wherever they are.? The Shar?ia Court sentenced the Algeria diplomats to death, and state that such is the fate of the ?ambassadors and envoys of the rest of the infidel converted governments.?
