Salafist Group for Call and Combat (GSPC) Issues a Message to the Mujahideen in Iraq Who Captured the Algerian Diplomats
By SITE Institute
July 26, 2005

(GSPC Site)

The Salafist Group for Call and Combat (GSPC), issued a message on their website today, July 26, 2005, addressed to the ?mujahideen in Iraq? who captured the Algeria diplomats, which contains allegations of attacks on Muslims perpetrated by the two men, Ali Belarouci and Azzedin Belkadi. Further, the group references the Egyptian delegate?s ?confession? recorded by al-Qaeda in Iraq, and urges the Iraqi mujahideen to do so again, and provide film of ?those two sneaky people.? The GSPC believes that perhaps the footage will attack the Algerian regime and ?show its awful picture? to those who are not familiar.

Al-Qaeda in Iraq had recently issued a statement, translated by the SITE Institute , in which they claimed responsibility for the abduction of the Algerian diplomats.

The GSPC, in recent years has become the preeminent jihadist organization in Algeria and overseas and is considered responsible for most of the over 900 individuals killed within Algeria by jihadist violence.

A full translation of the message is provided to our Intel Service members.
