Ansar al-Sunnah, in two separate communiqués issued today, July 28, 2005, claims responsibility for attacks targeting American forces in Baquba, and several bombing operations in Haditha in the past few days, attacking American soldiers and Iraqi National Guards.

As described in the first message, an explosive package was detonated on the side of the road near al-Senaa in Baquba, targeting an American Humvee. The group states that the ?enemy?s losses are not known….?

The second communiqué describes the ?blessed harvest of the mujahideen in the city of Haditha for the last few days,? recounting several bombing operations, including an attack in the area of Mahathra, where the ?oil company and center of the strategic line falls.? According to the message, American and Iraqi forces were repeatedly shelled with mortars and fired upon them with BKC.
