IslamMemo News Agency (an online Arabic-language news site focusing on jihad-related news, www.islammemo.cc) reported that the ?Arab Fighters? in Afghanistan appointed a new leader, Aba Ikhlas al-Masri, to take over the leadership in Konar Governorate. According to the report, a spokesman for the Arab Mujahideen in Afghanistan, Al-Jeziery Abu al-Tayeb, confirmed al-Masri?s appointment in a telephone interview with the ?Afghanic News Network,? and added that the shooting down of the American Chinoook helicopter in Konar on June 28, 2005, was a ?big motive to the morale of the Arab Mujahideen.?

Further, Al-Jezeiry Abu al-Tayeb, when questioned about the whereabouts of Usama bin Laden and Dr. Ayman al-Zawahiri, stated: ?With the grace of Allah, they are all living and in good health, but I don?t know where they are.?
