By SITE Institute
July 31, 2005

The Imam al-Hussein Brigades [Qatta'ab al-Imam al-Hussein], in a communiqué issued yesterday, July 30, 2005, claims responsibility for the murder of two Britons and injuring members of their convoy in Basra, southeastern Iraq, by detonating an ?explosive device.?

According to media reports, the two Britons were security guards accompanying a British embassy convoy.

In the past, the Imam al-Hussein Brigades claimed responsibility for an attack July 5, 2005, allegedly killing five women and seven men within a group of workers ?helping the occupation forces in al-Fares club? in al-Amerya, Baghdad, and the assassination of a Badr Brigade officer in Baghdad on July 27.
