Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for the Assassination of Several al-Ghadr Members in Baghdad, and Attacks upon American and Iraqi Forces Throughout Iraq

In eleven communiqués issued today, August 1, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat Al-Jihad Fi Bilad Al-Rafidayn] claims responsibility for several assassinations of al-Ghadr Brigade members in Baghdad, and attacks upon American and Iraqi forces throughout Iraq:

  1. Claims Responsibility of the Battles in Ameriyat al-Fallujah, and Announces the Destruction of Four Tanks
  2. Claims Responsibility of Confronting the Crusaders on the Expressway in al-Dowra
  3. Claims Responsibility of Bombing al-Bakr Base in Abu Heshma, North of Baghdad
  4. Claims Responsibility of Destroying a Humvee on the Road of al-Tarmiya, North of Baghdad
  5. Claims Responsibility of Destroying a Transportation Car of the National Guards in al-Yousefiya
  6. Claims Responsibility of Assassinating Three from al-Ghadr Brigade in al-Baya?a
  7. Claims Responsibility of Assassinating a Member of al-Ghadr Brigade in al-Dowra
  8. Claims Responsibility of Destroying Two Armored Humvees in al-Doloeya
  9. Claims Responsibility of Bombing the Police Station of al-Kala?a in Samarra
  10. Claims Responsibility of Bombing a Checkpoint of Baghdad al-Hila
  11. Claims Responsibility of Detonating an Explosive Package on a Police Car in New Baghdad
