Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility for Two Suicide Bombings in al-Rummana, and Attacks on American and Iraqi Forces in Haditha and Fallujah

In a second wave of communiqués today, August 4, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq claims responsibility for two suicide bombings today in al-Rummana, northwestern Iraq, combat near Haditha with American and Iraqi soldiers, and bombing operations targeting American forces in Fallujah.

The first communiqué describes the groups operations today in al-Rummana, northwestern Iraq near al-Qaim, including two suicide bombings and detonations of ?many explosive packages? on American forces. According to the message, the total results of the ?harvest? was the destruction of ten armored vehicles, ?the killing of not less than twenty five people and the injuries of tens others.?

The second message states that the today, group engaged in battle with American and Iraqi soldiers in the the Parwana area, near Haditha, and the mujahideen ?stood firm against them and currently several battles are taking place.?

Yesterday, as the third message describes, explosives were detonated on a convoy of the Iraqi guards in Fallujah, allegedly killing ?not less than ten people from among their forces….?
