Al-Qaeda in Iraq Issues Propaganda Posters Warning against Voting on the Iraqi Constitution
By SITE Institute
August 16, 2005

Al-Qaeda in Iraq issued five posters this past Sunday, August 14, 2005, as propaganda warning Muslims to boycott the elections to approve the Iraqi constitution. One poster, including an image of a yield sign with the words: ?Beware, Keep Away!? shown in perspective relative to an election center, warns that the ?infidel elections posts are shari?a (lawful) target of the mujahideen operations, so keep away from it for your own safety.? Other posters depict a broken cross amidst a crimson sky with an American flag, at the end of a road containing the words: ?Elections / Democracy / Constitution,? and another explains that the Qur?an is the constitution.

A full translation of the text of the five posters is provided to our Intel Service members.
