Ansar al-Sunnah issued what they termed an ?important statement? today, August 20, 2005, concerning the writing of the Iraqi constitution, and what they see as the sovereignty of the people supplanting that of Allah and Islamic law. The group considers the constitution a ?system of Kings,? with multi-purposes serving America and ?apostates,? including the alleged elimination of the Sunni people from the ?social map,? securing Iraqi oil for the price of ?freedom and democracy? and destroying the Iraqi nation.
In addition, Ansar al-Sunnah believes that calls for the Sunni people to join in the writing of the Iraqi constitution to be duplicitous, with a motive to cause ?separation of the Sunni people from their brothers the mujahideen,? and the loss of the ?last possibility of life for the nation.?
