Global Islamic Media Front Issues Audio Recruitment Message Titled “A Call to the Muslims”
By SITE Institute
August 23, 2005

The Global Islamic Media Front, an al-Qaeda mouthpiece group, in an eight minute audio message issued today, August 23, 2005, titled: ?A Call to the Muslims,? urges the ?sons and daughters of Muslims and Tawhid? to join the information sector of which the group is a part, so they may reap the experience or talents of these Muslims in the confrontation with the ?giants of the crusaders? information systems.? The speech, allegedly voiced by the Vice Emir (Prince) of the Global Islamic Media Front, Ahmad al-Watheq B?allah, claims the group has already uncovered ?lies of the enemy? in Iraq, Chechnya, Afghanistan, Palestine and Kashmir,? and are constantly working for the ?good of Islam and jihad.?

The recruitment message claims that the group has support from the jihadist groups and ?preaching groups,? and stresses that the Front concentrates mostly on the battlefield, including Iraq, Afghanistan, Chechnya, Palestine, and Saudi Arabia. In addition, the Global Islamic Media Front praises the ?Islamic Media Front? for their ?Top Ten? video , which was released and disseminated across jihadist forums on August 11, 2005. The message states that they ?know the importance of our staying on the information channels which will continue forever because we always have a new generation who will carry the message.?

A translation of the message and Arabic clip are provided to our Intel Service members.
