Al-Qaeda in Iraq Issues a Statement Describing Hurricane Katrina as “Attacks of the Almighty, Taking Revenge”

A statement issued today, September 4, 2005, by al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat Al-Jihad Fi Bilad Al-Rafidayn], thanks Allah for Hurricane Katrina, described in the statement as ?attacks of the Almighty, taking revenge?. The statement describes Hurricane Katrina as ?the first signs of its [America?s] collapse? and a manifestation of ?the fury of the Omnipotent [Allah]…sent out against the nation of oppressors.?
