Al-Qaeda in Iraq Claims Responsibility of Assassinating Major General Omran in the Iraqi Ministry of Defense, Attacking an Iraqi National Guard Checkpoint in al-Khalis, Destroying a Humvee in Dyali, and Murdering an al-Ghadr Member in Baquba

In four communiqués issued today, September 8, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq claims responsibility for attacks yesterday, including: assassinating Major General Hadi Hassan Omran in the Iraqi Ministry of Defense in al-Dawra, Baghdad, storming an Iraqi National Guard checkpoint in al-Khalis, north of Baquba, destroying a Humvee in Dyali, and assassinating a ?responsible figure? of al-Ghadr Brigade who arranges operations in Khan Bani Sa?ad, in Baquba.
