Al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat Al-Jihad Fi Bilad Al-Rafidayn] issued a statement today, September 13, 2005, responding to media claims that the chemical rockets fired in Baghdad today were the act of an al-Qaeda linked group. The group claims innocence of these attacks, stating that they are not tied to the ?Victorious Group? or any other organization, and only in their own information channels do they claim responsibility for operations they executed. The message concludes with a statement that strikes upon the West will continue and they will seek to ?uncover their lies and humiliate it.?

The Victorious Army Group [Jeish al-Ta'eifa al-Mansoura] issued a communiqué today claiming responsibility for firing chemical rockets into Baghdad.
