In the latest issue (No. 21) of its military publication, ?Al-Battar Camp,? released on October 25, 2004, Al-Qaeda confirmed and praised the pledge of fealty to Usama Bin Laden issued by Abu Musab Al-Zarqawi and his insurgent group, Tawhid Wal Jihad Group.
The issue?s lead editorial focuses on the unification of all Jihadi groups in their confrontation with the war against Islam allegedly launched by ?Crusaders? and their collaborators: ?This unification is a big indication of the approach of victory, as well as a return to the foundation.?
According to this editorial, the affiliation of Zarqawi?s insurgent network in Iraq with Al-Qaeda is a devastating blow to Washington: ?In the beginning of their war against Islam, they had announced that one of their main goals was to destroy the Al-Qaeda organization in Afghanistan; and now, look what happened? Thanks to God, instead of being limited to Afghanistan, Al-Qaeda broke out into the entire Islamic world and was able to establish an international expansion, in several countries, sending its brigades into every Islamic country, destroying the Blasphemers? fortresses, and purifying the Muslims? countries.?
