Al-Qaeda in Iraq Announces the “Harvests” in Tal Afar and Those in Revenge for the Attacks on the Sunnis in Tal Afar
By SITE Institute
September 16, 2005

In two communiqués issued today, September 16, 2005, al-Qaeda in Iraq announces the harvest in Tal Afar yesterday, and harvest of revenge for attacks on the Sunni people in Tal Afar, during the past two days.

The first communiqué, detailing the operations of the harvest in Tal Afar for yesterday, September 15, states that an IED was detonated on a ?crusaders? convoy allegedly killing four, armed confrontations ensued between the mujahideen and American forces, and a house inhabited by three mujahideen was assaulted by Iraqi forces, who were purportedly forced in ahead of the Americans. The message indicates that following the death of the Iraqi soldiers, the American bombed the house, causing the mujahideen to become ?martyrs.?

The second communiqué includes claims for several attacks upon American and Iraqi forces in Baghdad, al-Ramadi, and al-Mosul. Al-Qaeda in Iraq states: ?We notify you, that your mujahideen brothers have entered patrols and are roaming the streets of Baghdad, searching for renegades and crusaders, in order that Allah will inherit the earth and bestow His blessings upon it; for he is the best inheritor.?

A full translation of both messages is provided to our Intel Service members.
