Al-Qaeda in Iraq [Tanzeem Qaedat Al-Jihad Fi Bilad Al-Rafidayn] issued a statement today, September 19, 2005, clarifying its position following the speech of its Emir (Prince), Abu Musab al-Zarqawi, concerning its ?comprehensive war? against the Shi?ites following the attacks on the Sunni people in Tal Afar. According to the statement, those Shi?ites who denounce the Iraqi government?s alleged crimes against the Sunni people and do not support the occupation will be ?excluded from the mujahideen hits.? Such exclusion is extended to any group that does not assist the ?crusaders? or Ibrahim al-Ja?afari?s government. Further, the group promises to continue its war against Iraq?s political parties and those who participate in governmental processes and the ?slaughtering? of the Sunni people.
